Higgins Lake Maplehurst Dock Association, at Higgins Lake is a non profit group of neighboring volunteers that help maintain the dock at the road end of Maplehurst Road. Everyone is welcome.  We ask that you donate to help maintain the dock with materials to keep it safe and availablefor everyone to use.  The average donation is $30 -$200 a year.  Some give more. Boat Launch info

Hello Association Members & Friends - as we head into the Spring & Summer season, I want to remind everyone of the limitations of our launch, and to remind everyone to ensure they have the right equipment to launch at Maplehurst, so that we prevent damage to the pads and lakebed itself.

 

1) ANY pontoon in excess of 14ft launching must have a cantilever-type trailer (that cranks up and down) so that the boat can be set in the water while the vehicle is still on the launch pads. 2) V-hull boats should not exceed 18’, and MUST have roller-type rails. You will not be able to launch with a bunker-style trailer (e.g. ‘float off’) and will only create congestion at the road end.

 

Lastly, please be mindful of the fragility of the dock and don’t ‘power up’ to secure your boat (from the lake channel) to avoid risk of collision or personal injury, as we had a couple incidents last season that prove costly and dangerous. We understand that in inclement conditions this could prove tricky, but please use care as needed.
